Virginia is a senior energy consultant and electrical engineer with around 20 years of experience, specialized in electricity market design, regulation, and power system operations. At REF-E, she leads consultancy advisory and research, focusing on forecasting and simulation of the energy markets. Virginia supported many operators in the strategic assessment of new investments, business planning, trading optimization, risk management, contract renegotiations, antitrust procedures and regulatory issues, with a specific focus on the evaluation of the impact of the new reforms concerning ancillary services market, capacity market, renewable integration. Virginia supported the main Institution in regulatory and policy decisions. At the present moment Virginia is leading the PPA Committee (in collaboration with Public Affairs Advisors and Herbert Smith Freehills) and she is involved in many projects on innovative business models for renewable and storage. Virginia is a professor at the University of Pavia - Faculty of Engineering- Master of Science degree course on "Energy Markets"
